BRITTNEY & STEVE
A BACKYARD SUMMER WEDDING | GUILFORD, VERMONT PHOTOGRAPHER
Brittney & Steve’s wedding day looked very different from what we all expected, but it was equally as beautiful and even more special being at Brittney’s childhood home. Nothing can touch the love that these two have for each other and nothing could stand in their way. They were stealing kisses all night long on the dance floor and laughing out loud at their best friend’s toasts as well at Steve’s ring *almost* not fitting during the ceremony.
I could feel the rush of team effort that every family member and close friend there made in order to make the day happen. You could just look around and see the endless work and time spent on her parents property in Guilford, Vermont in order to be ready for this day. Hours of landscaping and endless beautiful stone walls created by Brittney’s Dad. Both her Dad and Steve’s Mom helping iron Brittney’s wedding gown so it was perfect for her to walk down their staircase and out the backdoor down the aisle to see her groom. The way that Brittney’s 98 year old grandmother looked at her stunning granddaughter just melted our hearts of everyone in her presence.
The list goes on and on with all the little details. Including Steve’s grandfather’s tie clip that he wore proudly all day long and carried a piece of him throughout the day, never to be forgotten. Not only did Steve make the wooden cupcake holder, he built their custom ceremony benches too. So much effort and love was put into this wedding day and it shined through all day long.
When you have fur babies you probably have a lint roller handy in every room of the house, your car and your purse. I personally keep a small one even in my camera bag! There were so many laugh out loud moments including Steve’s team of lint rollers getting all that Woody hair off (don’t worry he joined us for portraits later!) And the laughs continued into cocktail hour when Steve’s family participated in the most intense never ending game of Jenga I have ever witnessed! They should probably just start a competitive league already.
Brittney & Steve, you did it! You said ‘I do’ with the most important people in your lives by your side and danced the night away under the stars. It was intimate, romantic and everything a wedding day should feel like. Congratulations you two, I wish you nothing but love for your future together!
